How effective is Cyestra as a contraceptive?

Question about Cyestra-35 I was prescribed Cyestra for acne over 5 years ago and I am still taking it. If the contraception that this pill offers is similar to other oral contraceptives such as Lolo or Alesse for example, I would continue with Cyestra because I have no problems with it. I have been taking the pill at the same time every day for years and I want to make sure that I am protected. Also, I have started taking it continuously for 2 cycles now and I would like to know if it is ok with this medication. Thank you very much for your answer

Hello, thank you for your question! Cyestra-35 is not officially indicated for contraception. It should not be prescribed for this purpose only. It is mainly prescribed for the treatment of acne. The majority of studies on the drug and its ingredients show that it could be an effective contraceptive. However, if contraception would be the only reason for its use, I would suggest changing it.
