What tests will I have to take, i.e. strep and others?

Hello, I often have sore throats that come out when I'm tired and sick and this for several months. It goes away and comes back intermittently on a fairly regular basis. The pain is in the throat (burning sensation when swallowing and tightness at the apple of adam). I don't think it's strep because the pain is not that intense and goes away by itself. Thank you

Hello, like you, I would be surprised if it was strep for the same reasons you mentioned. However, there are other possible causes. For example, it could be gastroesophageal reflux, which could explain the intermittent nature of the symptom. Other causes are also possible, such as an allergic reaction, a reaction to a pollutant.. I believe that your symptom has lasted long enough to require a meeting with your doctor. In the meantime, I suggest you try taking an antacid for a few days to see if your symptoms don't go away.
