My 5 week old baby has one eye that is always wet. Even one is dripping this morning, but only in one eye. What can I do to relieve his dry eye? Thank you for your help.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Since you asked the question on this platform, has there been any change? Does your child have any other symptoms such as a runny or stuffy nose?

No, but his eye is back to normal. Fortunately, it is no longer runny.
I use the nasal spray every day.

I'm glad to hear from you!
For the future, you should know that lubricating drops such as Systane Ultra, or Refresh Tears among others, are safe for babies too!

His eye started to leak again. It's always the same one. Could this have anything to do with me giving him the nasal spray morning and night?

It is possible, but difficult to determine. For now, just monitor his condition, and apply artificial tears. It will be necessary to consult if no improvement after 7 days or if the discharge becomes more purulent.

Hello!
His eye has started flowing again since yesterday. It is still the same one. He is now 7 weeks old. He has a very small transparent wet secretion under his lower eyelid. It is not red. Could this be due to the nasal spray? What do you think it is?
Thank you

It is possible that nasal irrigation with saline solution may cause watery eyes at times. However, this should not persist beyond a week.

Just one eye? Can I put something on to relieve it?

Oops, sorry. I sent my message twice. I don't have any more questions. Thank you so much!!!

Yes, it is possible that it is just one side.
Don't hesitate if there is anything!
