Hello, can I protect my shingles lesions with gauze to avoid rubbing them on my clothes?

and prevent the discharge when the blisters burst? Also, how can I avoid giving chickenpox to my children, they have never had it. Can I give them chickenpox through saliva or only if they are in direct contact with my sores? Thanks :-)

Hello,
you can cover the lesions with bandages to protect the affected area and to help soothe the pain. Your pharmacist can recommend a bandage for this purpose. A person with shingles can transmit the virus. They will then transmit chickenpox, not shingles. It is transmitted by contact with the small blisters of the person with shingles. Shingles is contagious until the blisters become scabs. Depending on the age of your children, they may have been vaccinated against chickenpox, as the vaccine has been part of the regular vaccination schedule for a few years.
I hope I have answered your question.
