Hello, Since you have extended your discontinuation period from 7 to 10 days, you have effectively lost the contraceptive effect of your medication. Therefore, to answer your question, it will take 7 days to regain the protection of your contraceptive. Therefore, you will need to use additional contraception for the first 7 days of your pack.
