I am looking for products to treat acne but I want to get pregnant soon. Over the counter products are not working at the moment. Can the pharmacist prescribe a product, if so which ones? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your question!
Currently, pharmacists can only prescribe a topical treatment for acne if you have already received such a prescription from a physician within the last 5 years. Benzoyl peroxide gel is one of the most effective acne treatments and is available without a prescription. Is this one of the products you have used in the past?

Yes, I have been using Benzagel for several months

Thanks for the clarification. My research has not been conclusive, other than adding clindamycin topically, but continuing the benzoyl peroxide. This medication requires a prescription, and there are medications that combine peroxide and clindamycin, but those require a prescription as well. I encourage you to discuss this with your doctor at your next appointment.
