I am pregnant and I have mucus in my stool, can this be related to the beginning of labor?

Hello, this morning when I went to the saddle I saw that there was mucus on the wall of it. It was completely white. I have no other symptoms at this level. I am 37.3 weeks pregnant and I feel that my body is preparing for labor since a few days (pressure in the pelvis and cervix / painful contractions, but tolerable and irregular although some regular episodes at least 5 minutes / more frequent and softer stools which seems to be the effect of prostaglandin). I am not on any medication and have no other GI symptoms. No itching either. All my routine vaginal and rectal swabs were fine as of July 17.

Good morning, Mrs,
The presence of mucus in the stool can have several causes. I am reassured that you are not reporting other symptoms (fever, diarrhea, nausea, pain, bleeding, etc.). This can indeed happen due to hormonal changes, but it is difficult to establish the cause in a concrete way. What I can suggest is to monitor the situation, it should remain mild and temporary.
I hope I have been helpful, I remain available if you have any further questions
