My 7 day olds seem to have reflux?

36-year-old woman3 years ago
My twins have acid reflux. They are 7 weeks old and for the last 3 days or so, they have been crying a lot after feeding and getting stiff. They also drink less than usual and regurgitate more. They drink standard formula. They do not have a family doctor. Who can prescribe me a medication to help them, or a formula adapted to their situation.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Is it possible to know if you are breastfeeding or what formula your girls are taking?
Thank you!

They take the standard Good Start.

Thanks for the feedback!
Keep in mind that at their age, your girls are still learning to digest. What you've noticed is probably what people consider 'colic', which has no impact on your babies' health or development
Several solutions should be tried:
  • You can try to decrease the amount of feeding, even if it means feeding more often
  • Take frequent breaks during feedings to let the air bubbles pass: hold your baby to your chest and massage their back up and down (you should not be patting them)
  • Avoid changing positions after a feeding, and avoid putting your babies to bed immediately afterwards too
I hope I have been helpful to you, and if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
