Since I've been taking Sertraline, my periods are much heavier. Can this be a side effect of Sertraline?

For a few months now (September), I have been following a treatment that is composed mainly by sertraline. I have noticed that my periods are much stronger since then.

Good morning, ma'am,
The manufacturer reports in its monograph painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea) in people taking this medication, but this seems to be very rare.
That being said, if you have noticed a change in the appearance or intensity of your periods, I would be inclined to suggest that you discuss the matter with your doctor when possible, to rule out causes.
I hope I have been helpful to you and remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
