I take 250 mg of metformin morning and night. Two hours after dinner my blood sugar is between 7 and 9. In the morning on an empty stomach it's over 7. Is this normal?

Hello Ma'am,
How long have you been taking metformin?
And have you ever taken a dose larger than that?

Good evening,
I have been taking metformin for about 9 months and have never taken a larger dose.
Will I have to take the medication at different times (currently at breakfast and dinner) or have dinner earlier (I eat my evening meal at 6 or 7 pm )
Thank you

Good evening!
You need to take the medication with food like you already do.
In my opinion, you just need to increase your doses. I encourage you to contact your pharmacist tomorrow to talk about this!
Probably 250 mg in the morning and 500 mg in the evening would be a useful first change in your situation.
