Hello, I have been taking a treatment of metronidazole 250mg for 4 days for a bacterial vaginosis. I still have white discharge and sometimes pressure in my lower abdomen. The smell and itching have disappeared. Is this normal or could it be that I also have vaginitis because of the antibiotic?

My stomach pressure is also made up of bloating. Could it be the antibiotic?

Hello, Madam,
Indeed, this medication can cause bloating, but it is usually mild and disappears at the end of the treatment. Taking it in the middle of a meal may help
Did you have white discharge before starting the treatment?

Yes, I had them. It was part of my symptoms. I thought they had subsided but it's like they've returned. Could I also have yeast vaginitis from the antibiotic?
I will also have my period next week

Indeed, antibiotics can cause a disruption of the normal flora and increase the risk of yeast infection. However, considering that this was a symptom before and that it seems to have reappeared, it would be prudent to contact the doctor to reassess the situation
