I am taking fragmin following a pulmonary embolism. Is it normal to feel a lump under the skin where I was pricked?

Hello Ma'am,
Yes, this is normal. To reduce this reaction, you could try to distance each injection by pricking in different places each time, and apply cold to the skin, but only 4-5 hours after the injection (so as not to reduce absorption).
How long do you have left to inject like this?

It's going to be three weeks on Sunday since I started and I have three months to go.
Then I never sting in the same place since I bruise.

Hummm....
It would be worthwhile in my opinion to review the injection technique.
I would recommend that you contact your pharmacist and make an appointment with him/her to do this. It may be that the injection is done too parallel to the skin, causing the bruising and swelling.
Also note that with proper injection technique, one can easily inject into the side of the thigh.
