Hello,
The usual maximum dose of dexilant is 60 mg. So you are already taking the maximum dose right now. In rare cases, the doctor may prescribe to take it twice a day, but this is only if no other medication in the same family or other combination has shown efficacy.
What I would suggest is that we suggest to your doctor another medication in the same family such as pantoprazole 40 mg that you could take twice a day and then re-evaluate the effectiveness in 2 weeks.
We can then contact your doctor to make the substitution and follow up with you afterwards.
To do so, call us at Familiprix in Valcourt at 450-532-6000.
We look forward to speaking with you in person!

I have already used pantoprazole for a while and then it didn't work anymore. This is the third medication I have been prescribed and after a few years it stopped working and now I am told that there is no other medication that can be prescribed to me, that is why I am wondering if increasing the prescription to two a day would work
Thank you very much

Were you taking pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily at the time?
If pantoprazole 40 mg twice a day didn't work for you, have you ever tried a combination with ranitidine? In a case like yours, doctors usually prescribe Dexilant 60 mg in the morning + ranitidine 150 mg at bedtime.
If this has already been tried without success, then dexilant 60 mg twice a day could be tried. Note that this increases, among other things, the risk of diarrhea associated with dexilant.
Enjoy!
