It should be noted that the measurement of blood pressure is two values, not one: There is the systolic blood pressure (the first number, when the heart beats), and the diastolic (the second number, when the heart is at rest and fills). These are the 2 values that are to be taken into account. And the first value is not 12, 13, or 14, but 120, 130 or 140. You must write down the full value when you return to the doctor, and avoid rounding.

To answer your question, the medication is supposed to lower your blood pressure, but this is not a guarantee, unfortunately

I suggest you take 2 measurements in the morning at 1-minute intervals, then 2 measurements in the evening at 1-minute intervals, for 7 consecutive days. We'll average the last 6 days.
