I have a first outbreak of herpes and I can't get to a doctor. Are there any complications if I don't take the medication?

I think I have a first attack of genital herpes and I am unable to see a doctor. The symptoms started 5 days ago. I have a new pimple that appeared yesterday at a distance from my first lesions. Is it too late to take the medication? Can a pharmacist prescribe it if I don't have a diagnosis? Are there any possible complications if I don't take the anti-virals? Thank you!

Unfortunately, this requires a diagnosis that only doctors can make. Antivirals prevent the replication of new viruses and can shorten the duration of an outbreak.
You will need to see a doctor on a walk-in basis or make an appointment for a thorough evaluation of your condition, to rule out other causes and not to delay management in case of a future outbreak.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. Is it normal that a new lesion appears after 5 days? Is it too late to take Valtrex? I thought it was supposed to be taken within 72 hours of the onset of symptoms.

Indeed, the treatment must be started at the first signs. And it can happen that there are new lesions that appear, being a contact virus.
