Is it better to take ivermectin (Stromectole) on an empty stomach or with food and/or water for the treatment of scabies?

One study showed that the amount of ivermectin in the blood can be greater when taken with food than when taken on an empty stomach. For some infections, there is no need to go for this little extra and it can be taken on an empty stomach without any problem. However, for the treatment of scabies, it is recommended to take it with food in order to increase its quantity in the blood, and thus its effectiveness in the skin layers!
