How long can I have unprotected sex after the Kyleena IUD is inserted?

Good morning, ma'am,

If the Kyleena was inserted within the first 7 days of your menstrual cycle (i.e. within 7 days of the start of your last period), you do not need a second method of contraception such as a condom.

If this time has passed, a second method of contraception will be needed for 7 days after the IUD is inserted.
