Hello, 11 month old baby who is constipated. We have tried everything from prune puree to prune juice, giving more water, but nothing works. Lately, a small crack is there, our baby seems to be in pain. What can we give him to relieve the constipation, but also for the crack?

Hello, thank you for your question!
You should indeed encourage the baby to drink often to help soften the stool.
You can also add a little more liquid to your baby's cereal to dilute it a little more and encourage him to drink more
Otherwise, PEG-3350 powder (Lax-A-Day, Restoralax and other brands) is safe at this age. It is given according to weight. Your pharmacist can tell you how much to give and how to give it, depending on your child's weight. He or she will also be able to document your child's file and ensure a better follow-up.
However, for the fissure you described, this usually requires a medical evaluation for children of this age. If you see that the situation persists, please consult a physician.
I hope this has been helpful to you and I am available if you have any further questions!
