Can you diagnose nail fungus? I don't want to go to the doctor these days

I put gel on my toenails and when it came off, my nails turned white. It's not very aesthetic. There is one nail in particular that is thicker and I think it could be the fungus

I want to put on polish for the summer, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea if my nails aren't healthy! Do I absolutely have to see the doctor?

Hello Ma'am,
Diagnosis can only be provided by a physician (this is a procedure reserved for physicians). That said, most treatments are available without a prescription, so you may be able to attempt treatment without going to a doctor.
Also, it is possible to apply nail polish even if a fungal infection is present while waiting to initiate treatment.
Finally, you should know that a podiatrist is also able to provide a diagnosis of nail fungus. It may be easier to see a podiatrist in your area right now.
Good day :)
