We went camping and made many fires. Should I be worried?

Hello, Was it a pharmacist who said this or did you read it on the internet?

In any case, you should know that wood fires do contain chemicals that have been identified as carcinogens. However, it would be an exaggeration, in my opinion, to consider an OUTDOOR wood fire as being more carcinogenic than cigarettes.

According to the Quebec Lung Association (http://www.pq.poumon.ca/environment-environnement/wood_smoke-fumee_bois/), it is mainly fires in indoor fireplaces that could cause problems. And some types of fireplaces are more at risk than others. I recommend that you speak to a specialist in the field for more details on this subject.

In conclusion, remember that it's all about the dose. A smoker inhales the smoke from several cigarettes a day, while you are just enjoying the joy of a campfire, outdoors, and probably not every day. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
