In general, laboratory tests have values that are considered "normal". This normal is calculated according to a large number of criteria, but it is built around an average. In other words, it is by measuring the PSA of a very large number of healthy men and finding the "average" that we are able to know what is normal in this test. That said, it is normal for some people to have slightly abnormal tests (for example, a PSA value that is too high) without it being problematic.

In the specific case of PSA, it is important to know that it is correlated with the size of the prostate. Simply getting older causes the prostate to increase in a normal way. This is the reason why most PSA standards show a normal value depending on the age of the man who has been tested. This is especially true for men who develop a health condition called "Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia".
