I've had 5 antibiotic treatments since Oct 14 for a tonsil abscess and now a 6th for sinusitis. I feel my eyes dry and my cheeks are getting hot. I finished the tx yesterday.

Hello Ma'am,
It's not impossible, indeed. We have known for a relatively short time that a thin layer of "good bacteria" populates our cornea (the most superficial layer of the eye) and that they impact the hydration of the eye, among other things. Prolonged antibiotic use may therefore have destroyed this good bacteria layer and induced dryness symptoms.
To restore the good bacteria layer, we will give the body time to reproduce it, trying as much as possible not to expose ourselves to further antibiotic treatments. During this time, lubricating drops can also be used if the dryness is very uncomfortable. If you wear contact lenses, we'll also try not to wear them too much for the next few days, to let the eye "breathe."
Happy day,
