I am taking the Tri Cyclen-Lo pill and I have blood loss?

30-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, for a long time now, I have been having spotting between my periods, which can be quite normal, but for a few months now I have been having spotting, which is quite unpleasant and prevents me from having relations with my partner. It also affects my personal life, especially when I don't expect it... I have been taking the same pill since I was 17 years old (try cyclen-lo). Is it possible that it is no longer "strong" enough?

Hello, ma'am, thank you for your question!
Usually, taking this type of contraceptive helps to reduce this type of symptom. However, it is important to take the contraceptive regularly, ideally at the same time every day
This being said, this situation can happen without necessarily indicating a problem, even with regular intake without forgetting. It usually clears up on its own after a few weeks, but it can also take a few months in more rare cases.
Changing the contraceptive has not been very successful for this, especially since you have been taking it for a long time without problems. A change could still be attempted following discussions between you and your doctor.
I hope that I have been helpful to you and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
