Blocked ear and pain after using Sinus Rinse?

28-year-old woman3 years ago
I started at the beginning of the week to do some sinusrince because I felt my nose was blocked. While I was doing it, I had a sensation that my right ear was blocked. Since a few days (3 days if I'm not mistaken) there is no improvement on the contrary I feel now a pain in the same ear.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Have you continued with the Sinus Rinse?

Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed, we will avoid the Sinus Rinse for the next few days. However, I can suggest the use of a decongestant nasal spray such as Drixoral or Dristan, 2 sprays in each nostril twice a day for a maximum of 5 days
Afterwards, I advise you to use the valsalva technique: take a deep breath, then close your nostrils and mouth, and try to exhale afterwards. Swallowing immediately afterwards can help to rebalance the pressure in the sinuses.
If this technique does not work after 3 days, you should consult a doctor as a precaution.
Sincerely
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
