Is it possible to get a prescription for metronidazole from the pharmacist?

Hello, for a few days I have had symptoms of vaginosis (unusual discharge and odor). I am on femara for fertility tx. Moreover, during my 2 previous pregnancies I also had vaginosis under hormonal tx. How can I get a vaginosis without going through the md if I had one about 2 1/2 years ago?

Thank you for your question!
Unfortunately it is not possible for a pharmacist to prescribe this treatment, among other things because it requires a diagnosis, which can only be done by a doctor.
If your symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
