Hello,
Glumetza, unlike Glucophage, is an extended release metformin tablet. Usually, the goal of taking Glumetza, which is more expensive, is to take it only once a day. So, effectively, you could take both 500mg tablets in one dose. However, taking it with food may reduce stomach irritation (as well as increase its absorption and effectiveness) and perhaps reduce the nausea you feel. I would therefore recommend trying to take it at dinner, rather than at bedtime.
If this does not improve your nausea, it is unfortunately possible that you do not tolerate this medication. In this case, a consultation with your pharmacy or physician is necessary so that we can evaluate other treatment alternatives depending on the indication for which you are taking metformin
Another medication or medical condition could be the cause of your nausea. I invite you to contact a pharmacist so that we can verify this
We hope to have answered your question!
