Hello! My eardrum perforated yesterday evening due to an acute otitis media. My ear has been constantly dripping for almost 24 hours.

Good morning, ma'am,
Have you consulted a doctor about this problem?

Yes I went to the doctor the day before yesterday morning for my ear pain. The doctor told me that my eardrum seemed to have been perforated during his examination with the otoscope, so I am on P.O. antibiotics. However, I think there was a mistake as I felt my eardrum perforate a few hours after the consultation. I have had a constant discharge from my ear ever since.

Thank you for the information. A discharge can last for 1 to 2 weeks usually during the healing process. However, if you think there has been a new lesion, I think it would be better to have it examined to properly assess the situation.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
