Potential for injury with a home blood pressure test

Hello, Is it possible that I injured myself while taking my blood pressure at home? When I raise my left arm to shoulder height and do a small rotation, I have muscle pain. No bumps, bruises, redness .

Hello,
It is possible to get injured while taking BP. However, these are exceptional situations in general
Is the pressure in the cuff very high?
Does the muscle pain appear when the arm is raised and is not present at rest?

I take it 3 to 4 times a day. At first it went up to 145/91 and also 157/92. And yes, the pain is only in the upper arm

Sorry for the delay in responding. It didn't work today at the pharmacy
The pressure is indeed a little high but not enough for the cuff to crush your muscle that much. Obviously, considering the circumstances, I think this arm needs a break from taking blood pressure
I would recommend something I rarely recommend, but it would be best to change arms if possible, while the pain settles
In the meantime, to speed up the process, you could stop by the pharmacy (or I could contact you for a free videoconsultation tomorrow as well) and I could prescribe a muscle relaxant. We have group prescriptions that allow us to prescribe certain medications like that

Good evening,
I have Naproxen 500 mg for pain but I prefer not to take anything because these drugs increase blood pressure and mine is already high. I will follow your advice and change my arm from left to right.
Thank you for your advice

You are right, anti-inflammatory drugs can increase blood pressure when taken for several days, which is not the case with muscle relaxants
So let's start as you say by trying to rest your arm, it may make all the difference. If it persists, contact me again and we can look at it together
