Hello,
It is normal after a wasp sting to have an inflammatory reaction and redness for a few days. However, more than 8 days is abnormal. I have some questions to help me direct you:
  • do you have a fever?
  • does the redness seem to be getting bigger (is the red area getting bigger)?
  • are you taking any other medications?
  • have you applied any cream or anything like that? Is Benadryl taken orally?
The risk with any injection is to develop an infection in the area of the lesion. The signs of an infection are redness, inflammation and heat. Usually, if there is an infection the red and hot area around the lesion will grow day by day (you can easily visualize the progress by drawing a line around the redness with a pen).
Ideally by seeing the reaction I could help you better, but depending on the answers you give me I can advise you better =)
Have a nice day!
