It is normal for the cycle to be a little unsettled when starting a new pill. It is generally recommended to wait at least 3 to 4 months before attempting a pill change.

In fact, some pills contain a slightly higher amount of hormones and therefore provide better protection against "spotting" and bleeding like the one you describe.
