What to do for an injection?

26-year-old woman3 years ago
I was stung by a wasp on my left calf, according to my health information it is a local reaction! Because I have a redness and an important induration which increased in the 48h following the sting. What can I take to help?

Hello, thank you for your question!
An increase in symptoms 24-72 hours after the sting is not abnormal. The best way to decrease the redness, swelling and pain is to apply ice, in a wet bag or towel, for 10-15 minutes, but as often as desired
Anti-histamines such as Reactin can be used to help reduce the severity of the reaction. Your pharmacist will be able to advise you on which one to take based on your history and preferences, and will be able to follow up with you as needed.
I hope I have been of some help to you and remain available if there is anything else I can do.
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
