I have had 3 UTI's within 6 months and I have never had this problem before. I'm afraid of getting them again. What should I do? Thanks

Hello,
Here are some steps you can take to prevent a urinary tract infection:
Drink enough water (or other beverages) 6 to 8 glasses a day
Eat cranberries; they prevent bacteria from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract and from proliferating
Urinate several times a day: This prevents urine from stagnating in the bladder and allowing pathogenic microorganisms to multiply
Empty your bladder completely at each voiding
Observe strict personal hygiene
Always wipe from front to back
Urinate immediately after each sexual encounter
Avoid keeping sanitary napkins in place for too long
Fight constipation by increasing fiber intake.
Also, for some patients with frequent urinary tract infections (more than 2 infections every 6 months), antibiotics can be prescribed as a preventive measure in low doses for several months. For example, the doctor may prescribe antibiotics on a daily basis for a few months or after each sexual encounter to prevent relapses and allow the immune system to regain control. This is not something you see very often, but it is something to consider if you ever find yourself experiencing new UTIs in the coming weeks or months.
I hope this answers your question... If there is anything else, please do not hesitate to contact me again and I will be happy to answer you.
