My fingers are swollen and painful since I had false nails done?

I had acrylic nails done and I think I had an allergic reaction. For a while my fingers were red, swollen and painful. It eventually went away, but since then, the skin on my fingers is hard/thick and it peels. Also, the white part on some of my nails is bigger than usual. They are no longer painful, but my cuticles are still a little more swollen than usual.

Hello ma'am, how long have you had this problem? Do you still wear acrylic nails or have they been removed, and since when, if so?
Thank you

The symptoms started about 2 months ago, a few days after the placement. I took it out when I started having the said symptoms (so swelling and pain). Since then, the pain is gone and the swelling has gone down, but my skin is peeling and the white part of my nails has increased. I have had nothing on my nails for several weeks now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Thanks for the feedback!
The skin on the hands and fingers is often the most exposed to irritants. What I can suggest is to moisturize the skin often with a fragrance-free moisturizer like Base Glaxal, Cerave, Cutibase or Aveeno among others. Keep some with you, and apply it every time you clean your hands or apply a hydro-alcoholic gel. Avoid as much as possible irritants like dishwashing soaps and cleaners, always wear gloves
Finally, I suggest a fragrance-free soap like Dove
I hope I've been helpful to you, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have!
