I have vaginal discharge that seems more yellow than normal. I have had an IUD since December 2. Is this an infection?

Hello Ma'am,
What is the name of your IUD? And do you suffer from stomach aches, fever or aches and pains?

My strerilet is kyleena. And no, I have no other symptoms. The discharge is small and gelatinous.

Thanks for the details.
Be aware that having inserted an IUD can actually increase the risk of infection in the days following (even though the risk is really low).
That said, when it is the Kyleena™ that is used, the fact that it also contains a reservoir of medication (progestin hormone) can change the appearance of the cervical mucus (vaginal discharge) somewhat. Thus, it is my opinion that in the current case, considering the lack of signs of infection, it is quite possible that the change to the mucus you noticed is simply due to the medication contained in the IUD.
If you see that the symptoms questioned above are appearing, I would advise you to consult a physician. Otherwise, you can continue wearing the IUD without concern.
Good day,
Alexander
