I had my belly button pierced last summer and recently I noticed that it looks like there is some infection

Hello,
It's hard to tell without necessarily seeing it. When you mention that you think there is infection, do you see pus? Or is there any redness? Or pain?
Essentially, the recommendation will be as follows. We recommend cleaning with a sterile saline solution (e.g. Wound wash) available in pharmacies. We will keep the area as dry as possible and make sure to dry the area after a shower or bath
If there is redness, you can draw a circle around the redness with a pen to follow the evolution and see if the reaction gets worse. If the redness gets bigger, if there is more pus, if you have pain, if you start to have a fever or any other symptom, I recommend that you see a doctor who could prescribe you either a topical or oral antibiotic depending on the severity of your infection. If there is mild pain, while waiting to see a doctor, you can always try to relieve it with Tylenol or Advil as long as you are not taking any other medication and you do not have any allergies
I hope this answers your question, if there are any other concerns, please feel free to contact me
Thank you
Steven
