How many days can it be harmful for a 2.5 year old child?

A friend of mine gives her daughter tylenol every 4 hours (except at night) because she has a cough. She has been taking it for several days online. She is on the daily maximum. I have read that it is not recommended to take Acetaminophen for a prolonged period of time even if you respect the daily dosage

Hello Ma'am,

It is not recommended to give Tylenol™ to decrease a child's cough. The only indication for Tylenol™ should be fever or pain.

After 2 weeks of continuous use, there may be risks of overdose and side effects, even if the recommended dose is not exceeded.
