What could be the cause? When should I start consulting? Thank you for your help!

Hello, I have an 18 month old girl. She has a fever since yesterday PM. Tonight she is 39. I give her tylenol to control the fever. She has completely refused to eat her supper. Wants to be in our arms only, refuses to play, constantly shits 🥴 She slept well though her night and naps though! What questions me is that she has no other symptoms! No runny nose or cough, doesn't pull her ears.

Hello Mrs,
There are many possible causes and unfortunately it is impossible to determine which one without a medical evaluation. It is common for a child with a fever to refuse to eat or to eat less, but should still drink or eat a little.
Continue to monitor the situation and administer Tylenol as needed. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids, even if it means giving smaller amounts at a time.
If the fever persists for 72 hours or if your child is not eating at all, a doctor should be consulted.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
