Hello Ma'am,
Serous otitis is a buildup of fluid behind the eardrum that usually does not cause pain. It can cause a feeling of fullness in the ear with or without a change in hearing. It can be caused by allergies or a cold.
Generally, there is no specific treatment for serous otitis. The treatment is to address the cause, as you are currently doing using a saline solution and nasal spray. I encourage you to continue using them.
It is possible to have a mild headache that can be relieved with Tylenol. However, if the headache is constant and increases or does not seem to get better with time, I would advise you to go to the doctor.
Otitis can take a long time to go away , this can vary from a week to several weeks depending on the patient up to a maximum of 3 months. If the ear infection persists beyond this time, medical attention should be sought.
If you notice the onset of fever, severe pain, discharge of blood or purulent fluid, dizziness, or sudden hearing loss, I would advise you to consult a physician to ensure that there is not another condition present that requires further treatment.
I hope I have answered your question!
Happy day,
