Good morning, I would like to have your opinion. I frequently suffer from barotrauma when flying. No matter how much I yawn, chew or swallow, it doesn't change anything, my ears hurt. The doctor prescribed me some: avamys and I also take an Advair pump. I have an appointment with the ENT but it takes a long time. So I have to fly soon and I was wondering if I could use a product like Sinutab or something else to help relieve my ears on the plane. I am waiting for your answer, thank you!

Hello Madam,
Did you feel any improvement with Avamys? What dose were you taking and what dosage (did you start several days before takeoff, or only the same day)?

I take 1 dose a day, I have not seen any obvious change.
I have been taking Avamys for 6 months.

I understand, thank you for the information. I do believe that an oral decongestant could be tried while waiting to see the ORL. This may even provide useful information in case the situation does not improve with this type of product.
Sinutab is one option, but there are others available in pharmacies. The important thing is to make sure that you do not have any contraindications to taking them. If the medication you listed in your question is the only one you take, and you do not suffer from hypertension or exacerbations, you can obtain an oral decongestant from your pharmacy.
Hoping it will be helpful,
