Note that I have a follow-up with my doctor next week.

I started ozempic (weight loss) under the recommendation of my doctor. I have done 4 injections so far. For the last 2 weeks, I have been nauseous. I am also very sick the 4th day after my injection (vomiting, diarrhea, weakness). I know that this is part of the side effects, but I wonder if it can really be attributed to that considering that it's 4 days later that it's the worst. If so, how can I change the day? I was taking Fridays thinking that the worst would be the weekend, but now the worst is Tuesday and I have not been able to work the last 2 Tuesdays because I was so sick. Also, is there any hope that it will get better, that my body will get used to it? If not, is there anything I can take/do to limit the side effects. Clearly, this is not sustainable.

Hello,
The side effects of Ozempic should improve over time. While they usually start within 1 to 2 days after the injection, it is possible to notice them after that time. If you are due for a dose increase in the near future, and the side effects you are currently experiencing are too bothersome, it is possible to delay the increase or even go back to the previous dose temporarily.
To change your injection day, I recommend that you skip a Friday dose and start over the day you want to have it. So if you take your dose today, Friday, February 17, and you want to take it on Tuesdays, the next dose will be February 28. Ozempic is not a drug that is quickly eliminated so there is no worry about delaying the dose by a few days.
Hopefully this answers your question,
