I have a yeast infection and I am unable to urinate?

Hello I have been diagnosed with a yeast infection in my vagina but I am not able to pee it hurts too much is this normal? After how long does the pain stop with the treatment? Is it normal that I am not able to pee? How long before the treatment takes effect?
