My 20 month old son started a cold last Thursday. He had a fever for 3 days and since then he has had a runny nose and is tired. On Wednesday he started to feel much better but since Friday he has been coughing a lot.

Hello,
If you don't have the emergency symptoms (fever more than 48 hours, difficulty breathing, wheezing, altered general condition or other symptoms) you can just follow up. For coughing, it is a defense mechanism, the child must be hydrated. There is a syrup made from ivy leaves available over the counter in pharmacies that can also help. If the cough persists for two to three weeks, you should go see a doctor.
I assume the parents are vaccinated against COVID.
Thank you!
