My 5 month old daughter is constipated, she passes small hard stools. She is formula fed only at the moment, What can I do to help her?

Can i give her some water? Should i add water to the formula?

The best way to relieve constipation for a baby is to indeed provide more liquids by having her drink more frequently, whether it's mother's milk or formula. When a baby is older than 6 months, water can offered in addition to milk.
Another good trick would be to move your baby's legs as if she's pedaling. You can also massage her belly gently, clockwise, three or four times a day.
I hope this helps. If the constipation persists beyond 7 days, it would be best to consult a doctor or a paediatrician. The presence of blood in her stools, stomachache or vomiting are also good reasons to consult.
