Indeed, the best thing would be to see... Is there any redness, heat, pain? It could be an infection in this case, but you didn't mention anything like that. Sometimes behind the ear it's a wet area too, there could be some maceration.... Since it is a bit yellowish, Polysporin a cream once the area is well cleaned and dried could probably help and prevent it from degrading into infection.
