Is this normal? When should I worry or consult? What are the signs to observe?

The daycare teacher noticed today that my 2 1/2 year old had not urinated at all (including the morning at home: so no pee between 7am and 5pm, then only 1 between 5pm and 8:30pm). Wears diapers (no sign that he is ready for potty training until now). No known health problems. No cold or other virus symptoms at this time. No complaints of pain. No noticeable change in his general condition. Drinks fluids regularly (water/milk). Feeding normally. Has 1-2 bowel movements per day. *usual diaper change every 2 hours

Hello Mrs,
Have you noticed anything unusual about the urine diaper change, such as a darker color or anything else?

Hello, no, neither at home nor at daycare have we noticed any other changes or peculiarities. I have no idea if this is related, but this morning when he woke up he had patches/redness on his abdomen (he has been known to get hives, so those disappeared within the hour). No special note from the daycare teacher today. He peed throughout the day. I guess there is nothing to worry about but it is still peculiar!

Thanks for the information! As long as your child has urinated in the last 24 hours and his general condition seems good, I agree with you that we should just monitor the situation for now.
I will be available if you have any further questions!
