When should I start to worry about the amount of blood I'm losing? And is it normal for it to be so abundant?

24-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I am 10 weeks post partum and I am currently having my first period since my delivery (since 2 days). I have always had a lot of blood loss during my periods before pregnancy (enough to have to get up several times at night for example). That said, right now the amount of blood I'm losing is quite large and the color very dark (very dark red). Much more than usual. The amount of blood is so big that normal sanitary napkins like I used to use before the pregnancy are not enough, I had to turn to the same kind of protection as during the lochia period (adult diapers).

Hello !
It is possible that your first period after giving birth will be heavier and longer than you are used to
Since it's only been 2 days since your period started, I suggest you watch for the amount of blood to decrease after 4-5 days. If your period lasts more than 10 days with a large amount of blood that worries you, I suggest you consult a doctor. Otherwise, wait to see during your next period if it is still as abundant or if it has returned as usual
I invite you to contact me again to let me know how things are progressing. 😊
Hopefully I have answered your question correctly,
