This kind of situation deserves a doctor's attention. This is because there is a risk that this numbness is from phlebitis, which is a clot that has lodged in a vein in your leg and feels like it is taking up "room."
Sometimes phlebitis also causes redness and warmth, but not in all cases.
Phlebitis can deteriorate and even cause a pulmonary embolism or stroke when untreated. I'm not suggesting that this is absolutely phlebitis, but I do believe that one should make sure by consulting a physician.
