Is Mirvala as effective as Diane-35? Are there any long-term health consequences with Mirvala?

Hello, I met with a gynecologist to get more information about the pill I was taking including Diane-35. She recommended Mirvala (21) continuously instead, as Diane-35 is not recommended for long term use. I don't know if the effect is always the same or if there is a small difference between the 2 brands of pills.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Diane-35 has indeed the official indication for acne, but if this problem does not require any more or no treatment, it is possible in some cases that a change be made, if all parties agree
As far as Mirvala is concerned, this medication can also be effective on acne, and if taken regularly is effective as a contraceptive
The active ingredients are a little different so you might feel a little bit of a difference, but mostly at first
As for the long-term consequences of Mirvala, it is a contraceptive that has been used for a very long time, and its effects disappear when it is stopped. It has no effect on fertility when it is stopped, for example.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm available if you have any further questions

Okay, thank you very much for the quick answer. In that case, if I took my last Diane-35 pill 3 days ago, can I start the mirvala now or should I wait?

You can start Mirvala whenever you want. However, because of the change, a second method of contraception is suggested for the first 7 days of taking Mirvala (such as condoms).
