Is it better to take ZOVIRAX cream or ointment?

Depending on the location of the infection, cream or ointment will be applied. For example, ointment will be preferred in an area where there is friction or water/sweat is likely to be present (as ointment will not dilute as easily as cream).

And yes, one tries to apply the cream/ointment for the full prescribed duration to optimize treatment.
