When to use a hydrocolloid dressing?

This type of dressing can help when a wound is leaking, while providing a moist (but not too moist) environment to allow the wound to heal

If the wound is not leaking, in most cases "conventional" dressings are sufficient. The important thing is to cover the wound as this allows for better healing.
